My floating garden

I’ve always grown the odd herb here and there ever since university, but having our own place has really made me want to branch out and try some fruits and vegetables. Not having a garden (but having a deck with direct sunlight plus a shielded, glass wheelhouse) hasn’t really restricted my choices, except I’ll never be able to grow fruit trees on deck!

My crops are starting to do well!

Half of my herbs and my runner beans:

My strawberry (which already yielded its first super sweet berry!) and my melon plants:

And what started out as a packet of mint seeds has expanded into a full-fledged mint FARM!

I love this blog! And I love your floating garden too… I grew potatoes in pots once… they were great!! How big are those melon plants going to get?!

Looks like fun and good, too. I’m growing “chocolate mint” this year. It is just about prolific enough to cut for a batch of iced tea. I’ll let you know how it is

Thanks, Ses. To be perfectly honest, I have no idea how big the melon will get, but just in the week since I’ve taken the photo it’s nearly doubled in size again, though it’s branching out instead of up. I think I might need to get a trellis for it since the cute curly-cue vines have nothing to latch on to at the minute…
